Twin Block Appliance The appliance works by four plastic blocks, two on the top jaw and two on the bottom; in order for the patient to close their mouth they must push their bottom jaw forward. This increases the strength of the lower jaw and teaches the lower jaw to close in the new position. Eating is very difficult at first, but comes with time. It is a lot of hardware to get used to, clogging up your mouth and all. But I have made a lot of progress, improved my over bite, fixing my open bite. It has helped move my chin forward so my profile looks better. Overall it has really helped my mouth feel better, like my teeth fit together better. PLZ give me sum advice ive had 1 4 a few months but i neva wore it i looked like a FREAK coz it pushes my jaw so 4ward i H8 it!! But i got in loadz of trouble with the orthodontist so now i hav 2 start wearin it :'( I look weird AND no1 understands me wen i talk.
