I had braces for 2 years then when I got them off I thought it would be the end. Two months later I fell face fisrt of my bike. When I had braces the first orthodontist i went to was making my situation sound litterally 10 times worse than it really was. he exagerrated alot of things and told me i would have to wear head gear for up to 3 years. Uhh yeah right, I went to a diff. orthodontist and i only had my braces for a year and a half and no head gear, just rubber bands. danzig () - 14/Feb/2003 8:03:43 PM I have to wear hg, fortunately not all the time. All she gives out are brackets, elastics, and an ocasional retainer. BRACES OFF IN 3 MONTHS!! I knocked out 2 teeth and now i have to wear double braces and headgear to sort it out.it hurts really bad. My ortho wired it in because i wouldnt wear it so i hav it on 24/7, along with 3 coil springs. it makes ir real hard to eat and brush your teeth.
