Archived comments: (artndesign@cox. net) - 25/Sep/2002 5:56:36 AM After receiving 2 different consults for my 11 yr. old daughter's orthodontic needs, I was told she needs a Herbst Appliance with an expander OR a Jasper jumper with full top & bottom braces. Are there any advantages of one appliance over the other. I need to make a decision soon. The expander/ Herbst appliance seems to be more costly. Does one work better than the other? Is one more comfortable than the other? Thank you for a reply (the10slady@aol.com) - 06/Oct/2002 12:14:03 AM after 3 years of braces my 13 yr old son was told he needed a rapid molar intruder....What could of caused this? Could over correcting an over bite cause this? should I get a second opinion, before having him endure this for another year? Ann (strnwsk@aol.com) - 28/Oct/2002 10:00:04 PM Hi: I have a question about the standard jasper jumpers. My son has the jumpers and they seem to break every month. What could be the cause of this? They seem to break when he's eating food, usually chicken or turkey. He plays football too. Does this have anything to do with them breaking all the time? Hope you can help me out. Cheerstar () - 29/Mar/2003 9:55:08 PM Ann: If your son does not cut meat away from the bones that would be the cause. If you want more information ot eating and careing for appliences go to www.doctorcosta.com it is a great website for that kind of information. |
